Hi @tprice71,

Thank you for sharing the log files with us.

I have been able to dig a bit and found the following warning message:

2016-12-18 17:11:26 WARNING :: Exception in Update This process failed because of another installer doing cleanup in process

1. The warning message is pointing to a second executable which is in process.

Could you may just re-boot your computer and restart Fusion 360?

It would be great if you could share the log files than as well.

2. If this does not work, could you may try the following:

Windows

  1. Close Fusion 360
  2. In windows explorer browse to   %localappdata%\autodesk\web services
  3. In the Web Services directory, right lick on the LoginState.xml file and select delete
  4. Restart Fusion 360

I look forward hearing from you.

Thanks,

Hi Mike!

Thanks for your help!

That makes sense, I use Fusion mostly on my desktop, but I was on the road and grabbed my laptop. I had not turned the laptop on in several weeks. When I fired it up, Windows 10 and Fusion must have started updating at the same time. Neither Windows or Fusion asked/prompted me to accept the update or schedule it.

I restarted the PC when windows was done updating, and it didn't fix my Fusion problem. I ran a registry clean up program, restarted, same problem. I attached the new error log for you to look at. I will try your second suggestion and let you know if it fixed it or not.

Update. I tried deleting the LoginState.xml file and I still got the update error on restart. I attached the results of that one also. (autodesk.webdeploy.streamer-3)

Hi @tprice71,

After looking at your log files, it looks like this is an issue with some of the Fusion folders. Before going through the following steps, please make sure your projects are backed up to the cloud if possible. This shouldn't affect any of your data, but zero risk is always better than low risk!

  • Go to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk and delete the "Webdeploy" and "Web Services" folders
  • Try restarting again
  • IF that doesn't work, uninstall and then reinstall

Basically you'll be going through a clean uninstall prior to reinstallation, which almost always fixes issues like this one seems to be. If that doesn't work, please let us know!

re-install fixed everything! I will wait and make sure Windows updates are not running before I fire up Fusion again.
