Unresolved Component Error

Before leaving work I closed an assembly with several externally referenced subassemblies/parts, a few of which needed updating to the most recent version, but nonetheless I saved the assembly with the "Out of Date" versions and went home.

When I got home I opened the assembly back up to find that several of my subassemblies were missing components and thus had a slew of error messages. When I opened those subassemblies "UnresolvedComponent" was located in the browser where my part had previously been. But to add to the confusion, the parts that were missing had not been changed in weeks and were not the reason that the subassemblies needed refreshing.

Anyway, I opened the parts with no issues, edited a feature (without actualy changing anything), saved and closed the parts. I wanted to see if the subassemblies would recognize this updated version and resync with the part but that did not work. So now I have an assembly and several subassemblies that are virtually useless until those parts get resyncronized.

This happened once before and after several weeks the parts resyncronized with the assembly after doing my aforementioned test and everything was fine.

Unfortunately I don't have several weeks to wait around and need these parts to come back now.

Anyone have any solutions?

It seems to me that when an externally referenced part can not be found you should have the ability to search for it as you can do in SolidWorks.

Can you upload a copy of the Diagnostic Log files? The command is located in the help drop down menu.

It may also help to get a local archive file of the problematic assembly. If there are any difficulties uploading to the post, please let me know and we can arrange an alternate method.

Thanks,
