Unexpected result changing a parameter

Good evening to the community,

I'm very new to Fusion 360 and coming from SketchUp used years ago. I have a question to a problem I cannot come up with.

I design a drawer made of the front, sides and back. Each part is a component. Then I ground the front and I join the other three pieces to each other. Everything is locked to each other.

I go back in the history and edit the first sketch, the one of the front. I increase the height of the component to see the parametric function in action.

I expect all the other pieces to follow by but the result is quite confusing...can anyone help me?

Thank you, Luca

Hi,

Without insight into your design, advice is unfortunately not possible.
Please share the design.
File > export save as f3d on local device > attach to next post.

Hello Gunther,

Thanks for the reply. Here's attached the file.

When I edit the Front Panel sketch and I set the height at 6 in instead of 5, I have a funny result as all the other joint pieces move from the original position.

Regards, Luca

Blue sketch lines should keep you awake.

Two sides are defined, two in error are not.

There are no User Parameters in this version.

Hi,

I have completed the dimensioning for the sibling parts and corrected/extended the parameter list.
Nevertheless I would only create one part at a time and then copy and assign it.

Here´s a screencast (quick & dirty)

and a file to follow the timeline and parameters

Thank you for the explanation and support!

I'm digging more into users parameters now and I'm slowly getting familiar to it. So I understand this is the best approach to the use of the software.
