Unable to save Drawing to Shared Folder

Hi Everyone,

I found an issue about saving drawing into let say "X" shared folder.

I create the model on my own folder, and then create the drawing in the same folder.

I have no problem to export, and also save as the model (design) to shared folder, but the drawing was failed.

The export become grey out, and also happen in another folder (include my another own folder) when I choose save as.

At this time, I should share public link to another for download. Then he/she will manually upload to "X" folder to work with this files.

Please give your advice to solve this issue.

Thanks,

Adhi

Hi Adhi,

Unfortunately, at the moment, Export option in the File menu is not supported from Fusion 360 for drawings. If you would like to export the drawing as a PDF or DWG, you could try the Output panel in the Drawings toolbar:

If you would like to export the drawings with the file relationships to the model (design), you could export to F3Z format from A360. To do this, click on the 'i' button on the drawing thumbnail, select 'Open Details in A360'. The export menu there provides an F3Z (Fusion 360 Archive) option. The same export options are available on the shared link for the drawing, as you have already figured out. The exported F3Z can be uploaded back into Fusion.

As for your problem with moving the drawing - it looks like you are trying to move it into another project. Drawings can be moved/copied between folders but not into another project. If adding the person to your current project is not an option for you, exporting as F3Z and re-uploading may be the way to go. You could simply do this step once, to get the files into the shared project and continue working there.

Hope that helps. Please feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.

Thanks,

Krithika
