Unable to move files betwen folders

I'm unable to move files between folders and unable to access a360. It says "getting things ready" for hours. I've tried numerous times over the past month and it's the same result. No access to files at all.

I tried doing a chat but no one responded then disconnected me. I tried calling but it was a machine that said go to the website.

How do I contact customer support????

Hi @Anonymous

There are several ways to contact the Fusion 360 technical support team including this forum. You can also start a support request by emailing support.fusion360@autodesk.com.

There are some known limitation when trying to move or copy distributed designs, or design with XREF's. Could this be the issue here?

Are you trying to move the design using the Dashboard or via the data panel?

To work around this issue, you may be able to:

  1. Create a local archive file.
See: How to make a local archive (back-up) file in Fusion 360
  2. Next, use the Upload command in the Data Panel or in the Autodesk 360 Dashboard to upload the archive file into the desired Project/Folder.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Hi Daniel,

Sorry to hear your A360 and Fusion accounts aren't working as expected. That's tough to deal with when you need access to your files!

I'm curious if there seems to be a hang up with your account vs. the software. One suggestion is to see if you can run Fusion and create a new user account. If that works successfully, and you're able to create new datasets that can be accessed from A360, then it's pointing to an issue with your original account. Hopefully that'll help diagnose where the problem is at.

Another suggestion is to have someone login successfully into Fusion 360 on another computer, and then logout and then login with your credentials. Maybe that'll help clear up the connection to your account.

Let me know if you find some success! Best of luck!

Thank you.

I somehow ended up at myhub.autodesk.360 via my Fusion page, it has a Fusion interface and I found my files there and can move them around there. It doesn't look like the normal A360 interface I've used in the past and it looks like all my files were moved from A360 to the Fusion drive. The separate A360 drive I can access from that page is now empty except for sample files. Maybe the endless "getting things ready" page I've been seeing was my files being transferred to a different drive. I have a lot of files.

I have a drive folder installed on my computer that is A360 (see image) and it is also pretty much empty. It seems like it's supposed to function like Adobe's Cloud, where files are stored on the A360 cloud but also copies are on your local computer in that folder. How do I get that to work? Does that not work with Fusion files now that that's a separate drive?

The A360 Desktop Companion syncs to the A360 Drive. As confusing as this is, the A360 Dashboard that you see from Fusion is actually a different type of hub.

AutoCAD and Inventor will use the A360 companion to sync files to your A360 drive, so if you use those, you may want to leave it installed.

A360 Drive and A360 have become more tightly integrated, but it can be a bit confusing.

There's an old tip in the link below that has a bunch of old screenshots, but it may help to better understand the evolution of how things were and how things are now.

I hope this helps clarify the differences. Let me know if I missed anything or if you have any further questions.

Thanks,

Yeah that's odd and confusing, especially because I used to log into a website that used that symbol to access my Fusion files. I do use both Inventor and AutoCAD on occasion too. It would be nice if all the Autodesk cloud storage was in one place. With one name. With desktop syncing options for everything.

I see the new (to me anyway) tab toggle on the cloud access webpage, but want to point out that it adds to the confusion when the Fusion tab itself changes names depending on where you're accessing it from. See photos.
