Unable to edit file

Hi, new to fusion
when i open a design from my computer (inserted from my computer) the color of the design is different (its pink) and when i want to create a sketch on a part of the object it only lets me create it in the default XYZ location
same thing happens when i dowload a file from the internet

Hi,

that´s a mesh body.

You must first convert it into a solid body.

You can also work with mesh section sketches.
However, I recommend that you first look at tutorials on the subject of "editing meshes" and "mesh section sketches".

Thank you so  much this really helps but is there a way to convert the model to be smooth (i find all the triangles quite distracting lol) and why wont the timeline appear?

Please attach your model and let the Forum users take a look at it.

 

If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

sure!

i am able to convert it into a solid object but there is no timeline and the object has a alot of lines
