Unable To Change Appearance For A New Body

Since creating one new component - a surface body - on a new laptop and F360 installation, I can't change the Appearance of it.

Other bodies appear to be OK, so I don't know why this one can't be changed.

Is there any way to fix this issue?

I have no issues changing the appearance of the indicated surface body.  You may try right clicking on yours and select Remove Appearance Override then try to add an appearance.

Hi,

Surfaces have only one side for applying appearances.

You can simply change normal/inverted or select "appearance override" as  @jhackney1972  recommended.

you can disable this behavior by checking this preference:

Hi Jeff, that check box was already unchecked, must be the default.

Some weird behaviour. When I opened the version today, the body was now the Appearance colour I had unsuccessfully tried to assign to it! And changing it was AOK.

The gremlins were busy yesterday, I was getting the Browser "blackout" a bit, sometimes the right-mouse click for context menus wouldn't work, and the View Cube / Home wasn't working. At such stages I usually Save, which sometimes seems to "fix" things, &/or Close F360 and re-open.

Anyway, all good now.

Cheers, Max

Somehow, even after changing the Appearance when I opened the project, this body "reverted" to being unchangeable, without my doing anything. Go figure! Then I noticed that in fact it *was* changing, but underneath!

Should have paid more attention initially to your advice about using Modify > Reverse Normal! 🙂
