twist.pngGood evening. I have a rectangle sketch that when I try and rotate it twists the bottom of the sketch. Why does it do that. I looked it up and cant find anything. Thank you.

likely this is caused because one corner of the rectangle is fixed or constrained in some way that is preventing it from rotating.  Are there any coincident constraints at the corners?

Yes, coincidents in each corner with a double at the curve sketch and horizontal and verticals on all sides. Interesting is I was able to do this and started over and now I cant do it. I want to pivot at the dot. I have tried deleting all of the constraints but thats not the answer and it doesnt really work. Still messing with it. Thanks.

OK, figured it out. I deleted the bottom constraint horizontal. Dimensioned the bottom of the sketch because it slowly decreased smaller as I rotated it. Works so far but would still like to know why.

Hi,

1. All lines are fixed either horizontally or vertically and thus rotating is not possible.

2. If you want to rotate a rectangle you have to remove the horizontal/vertical definitions as well as redefine the angles (2) as perpendicular.
