Good Evening;
I need to draw a tunnel as might be seen in a coal mine. I have very specific dimensions for the X (width) and Y (height) of the tunnel walls from a center line down the Z (length) of the tunnel.
My questions is which tool do I use to draw a tunnel using very specific dimensions. Do I build the tunnel using the modeling tool or do I use the sculpting tool?
If I use the modeling tool, it seams to me that I would build a set of profiles that match the tunnel's X and Y dimensions. Each profile would be positioned along the Z length of the tunnel. Then I would have to figure out a way to connect the profiles together to make the walls of the tunnel. I do not have a clue as to how I would connect profiles together.
If I use the sculpting tool, I would create a cylinder and pull and push the perimeter faces of the cylinder to make the walls of the tunnel. But I do not see how to get very specific X and Y dimensions as I travel down the inside of the cylinder.
So, can you help me get started? Which tool should I use to create a tunnel using very specific inside dimensions?
Thank you in advance for your help.
