Tube through surfcace body

Hi

I am trying to add a tube for a carbon spar to a wing section.  I can convert the stl into a b-rep and I end up with a surface body.  Essentially i want to cut a hole through the body and add a tube but can't seem to find a way to successfully do this.  I have sketched a circle where I want to delete material and then add a tube.

Any help much appreciated.

So I have created a tube and combined it in meshmixer, all i now need to do is delete the material inside the tube, make it any easier?

No, of course, it does not make it any easier in Fusion 360. It's still a triangulated mesh!

Theoretically, it is in fact mode difficult because the mesh now has more polygons.

well, that's neat.  had no idea rc planes where being printed using that technique.  explains some of the oddness in the model.

stepping back and attempting your original approach ended up working.  can't guaranty it will work with all your models.  you can see in the screen cast that I went back and made the circle slightly larger so it would wipe out all of that initial connect or piece and not leave little slivers.  also had to take a run at it twice with the extrude to get it to work. 

you could "separate shells" in mesh mixer and separate that part out (or just re-model it in fusion) if you need it.

You sir, are a legend.  I cannot thank you enough.  Who knew it would be so simple... only you!  This is something I will make use of time and time again and most said it was not possible or worth doing.  Why spend time redesigning the whole wing when you can simply add a tube to and existing stl.

No but the designs for pretty much everything has been since in one form or another, take the wheel for example....
