Trying to merge 2 faces using a 45 degree angle

Question 1: I'm trying to make bins for my wife that can be connected at the top with a little connector. I have a little connector tab sticking out of the corner of the top of the bin, but I would like to be able to print the thing as a whole without using supports on my 3d printer. I'm trying to have the bottom of the BLcon taper down at a 45 degree angle to merge into the bin body, but I'm unsure how to accomplish this. If I can do this, it would eliminate the overhang and need for supports.

Question 2: Additionally, I would like to utilize the pattern tool with the ability to turn on/off the connectors at each corner, but is there a way to rotate them as they are patterned?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Maybe like this:

Instead of using pattern you could extrude only a quarter and combine and mirror.

Thanks, I went ahead and did the mirroring as you suggested.

Fine, so if you have no further questions, please mark my post as solved.

@ryanbourgoin

I see a very inefficient modeling practices in your original and in the proposed solution.

Do you have any interest in learning how to use Fusion efficiently?

@ryanbourgoin

I am recording a video on the technique I would have used.

It would take me about 10 minutes to do the geometry but much longer to create a video on the process.

If I don't get the video out today - just check back and keep an eye on this discussion thread.

@ryanbourgoin

I am going to go ahead and Attach my "solution" now (I made some geometry changes to suit myself that can be edited to your needs).

Note the simplicity of my first sketch compared to your first sketch.

Check back for the video...

Now that I have created the model I realize I could have simplified Sketch1 even more.
