Trying to determine what an icon means on a path....

Hello Everybody,

(Please see the enclosed picture to make sense of my question.)

I have noticed that some of my sketchs have a strange icon on the line segments, and I'm not sure (a) what it means, or (b) how it got there.  Does it have a name so I can look it up?

Those are sketch constraints. You can use sketch constraints to control the geometric relationships between entities in your sketch. e.g. ensure that some lines stay perpendicular or parellel to each other  etc.
