Trying to add a logo to a curved surface stl file

I am trying to add a logo, which i converted to svg and place it on a curved stl file, so that it will print as one piece. I also need to be able to color the parts in my slicer. Not sure if I worded this right. I am new to Fusion and trying my best. If someone could point me to the best video for this or detailed instructions, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Hi,

I think the best way to do this might be by using the emboss command. You will get distortion but how much will

depend upon the curvature of the item.

Take your stl and turn it into a solid. Once you have the solid, create an offset plane over the curved surface you

want the logo.

Import the svg and place it onto the offset plane.

Use the Emboss command to put it onto the face.

And it is on.

Cheers

You can't do this in Fusion with a converted STL file, because you need one surface.

There are a lot of programs that can do it, like Tinkercad, Cura (name it), Prusa Slicer, FreeCAD, 3D Builder.

While this is possible as the screenshot shows, generally modeling with meshes is not recommended in Fusion.

The workflow is NOT to convert the mesh model into a solid, bust similar to @Drewpan's example you would create a ring with the inner diameter being slightly large than the the diameter of the surface you want to emboss into.

Then you emboss that logo onto the inside of that ring and make the embossing protrude into the mesh body.

Then you change into the mesh workspace and tesselate the embossed ring.

Then you combine/cut the ring from the original mesh body. This takes a while!

Beforehand I would make sure the mesh body is centered on the origin.

As I have never embossed text on STLs myself, I have now given it a try.
With PrusaSlicer it only takes a few clicks.

I did it according to this video.
