Troubling Joint issue. part rotating

Can someone please tell me why, when I create a Joint between two components, one of them unexpectedly rotates the angle? This is throwing off my whole work process as I need to rotate one of the components to the correct angle. However, after creating the joint the angle is weird. I need to rotate the component to an angle of 4.888, but after the joint is created the angle magically changes to 80 degrees with some funky angle I have never had the part at.

I have done this exact same thing many times and never experienced this before.

It's rotating the part about 5 degrees as soon as the joint is created. It does this even if I insert the component without any editing. As soon as the joint is completed the part angles itself.

Also, why can't I create two rigid joints through an component. For example, say I want to create two joints where two bolts would be holding a part to a fixture. This would in turn angle the part correctly. However, when I try to do this the joints fail.

Update:

The component I am trying to join to the other is orienting to the origin of the component I want to join it to. Why?

Maybe not, because its still doing the same thing. This is ridiculously annoying.
