Trouble selecting surface

I am new to F360. I am trying to project an svg to a surface. Tried to create an offset plane above. Everything I do it wont let me select the surface, I am assuming its something simple that I am missing.

You have to create a new sketch on that surface and then project into that sketch.

That didn't solve it. It won't let me select the surface.

So I created a form. Clicked finish form. But when I try to use that form to reference a surface/plane I can not select it.

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

A sketch must be started on a workplane or on a planar face.

If you do not have any planar faces and you cannot use an Origin workplane - then you will need to create a workplane.

You cannot create an offset workplane if the original face isn't planar - you will have to use some other technique to create the workplane.

Can you attach the *.svg file?

I assume that all you need to do is offset the XY plane above your part, start a new sketch on the offset plane and then Insert the svg to have it ready to use.

You keep saying "select surface".

You do not have any planar surfaces.

You need to create a new workplane offsetting the XY plane.

I had no trouble inserting the svg file.

Download attached.

File>New Design From File and select file.

Actually, you don't even need to offset the XY plane, you can simply create the sketch on the XY and insert the image.
