Trouble returning from Sculpt mode to Model mode

Hello Community.

I started to work in a 3d modeling of WV-Beetle 1964, and for some reason in the middle of the design, the model turned in planes from model to sculpt mode. I know I can switch it out using Alt+1 and Alt+3 keys, and I know also I can choose either sculpt or model mode. However those commands do not work.  I ran a diagnose and it said the is a mistake while designing. Could anybody help to figure it out? I would appreciate that.

Thanks in advanced

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 Community!

So I tried repairing your T-Splines from the Utilities menu, but it seems there are a few issues that will manually need to be fixed. See my screenshot below - on the underside of the car, it looks like you have intersecting faces. As a result, when you try to convert the T-Spline to a BRep (by entering Modeling mode), it fails to convert due to these faces (although there might be other errors I don't notice). I would start by cleaning that up, and if you run into more errors, send me the new file and I can take another look.

Hey James.

I ran Repare Body from Utilities tool and I made all corrections on Error red stars and, Error red "T" Points. However, I am not still be able to return to model mode. I checked all star, and any possible inconsistency in the points or surface, and I did not find some errors.

Could you help me to check it out again if you find anything that is not correct?.

Thanks in advance.

Wilson

Your model has many problems and the way it is modeled will never convert.

Don't use polygons with less than 4 or more than 5 sides. Yes a T-Junction is what defines the name T-Spline, however, you made way too heavy use of it. Use T-Junctions only as a last resort.

Triangles are evil!

Here is your model in box mode.

Ive worked it over and here is my version in box mode.
You can see how little geometry is necessary to define the shape.

And it converts fine:
