Good afternoon, I'm trying to export a dxf of a sketch I have and some of the lines and curves are missing, I've also tried to use the 'splines to DXF'. Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong. Attached are the pictures.
Here is the sketch:
Here is the export to DXF (splines as polylines) settings:
Here is the exported DXF, notice the missing lines and curves:

Hi,
Thanks for posting.
Can you try increasing the tolerance to something much larger than 0.001"?
What is the consuming software for this exported DXF?
Can you share the file?
Thanks,
Thanks for the response,
Can you try increasing the tolerance to something much larger than 0.001"? Do you mean as in .01 or .00001?
What is the consuming software for this exported DXF? I'll be exporting it to sheetcam for plasma cutting
Can you share the file? Do you need the DXF or the original Fusion 360 file, if you need the Fusion file, whats the best way to share it?
Thank you
Charles
Sorry I should have been more clear.
Larger meaning more.
0.001 inches is a tiny tolerance zone. Try opening it up to be wider, it might allow more geometry to exist inside the "tolerance zone". So 0.01" or 0.1" would be the first two I'd try.
Is the image you posted taken from sheet cam?
If you want to share, just go to the file menu and pick Export. Use .f3d as the file type. I would like to see what results I can get using the same f3d and exporting to AutoCAD and Inventor.
Thanks,
I tried .1 and had the same result.
The image was taken using the Google Drive DXF viewer, its what I usually use to make sure the DXF is good before sending it to the Plasma cutter, which uses Sheetcam to setup the GCode.
I have attached the file as Magnum Award holder export.f3d, the Sketch I setup for the DXF export is called DXF 🙂
Thank you for your help
Charles
Not sure why, I've made a few updates to the file since sending that one, the new file is now called MECA Medal Holder for Magnum with Vipers.f3d.
There are now 2 DXF Sketches, both have missing lines and curves.
Here is the second DXF export with the missing lines and curves:

I don't see any missing lines in the DXF when opened with Fusion or Inventor.
Google drive preview does look bad.
Have you tried opening it up in your plasma program to see if it's good there? Can you send a screen shot of what it looks like when opened in the plasma app?
Thanks,
Its the DXF export that is missing the lines, its fine within Fusion, the issue occurs when you export the sketch to DXF.
Sorry for the confusion.
I have not opened it in Sheetcam yet, but the Google preview is spot on when there are issues with the DXF, which is why we use it to preview.
I hope this helps.
Thank you
Charles
Sorry I should be more clear. I can make good dxf from your file. I can open them in Fusion and Inventor and make 3D shapes from them.
So this makes me wonder if google is not accurately showing the shapes. A test in your plasma program would be best to clear up any doubt.
Thanks,
I have this exact same issue. I think it must be something to do with the software that consumes the DXF. It happens on more or less every DXF I export. I have to export a step file and open in Solidworks and export from there. I have eliminated operating systems as it happens from 2 PCs and Mac too.
The consuming software is Laser System 5.3 by HPC laser ltd. Never had an issue before on a Universal Laser system laser cutter.
