Trouble editing imported sketch curves

Hey there,

I'm trying to edit some imported SVG geometry.  Is there any documentation on editing sketch paths (like keyboard shortcuts/modifiers)?

I'm trying to nudge this vertical line to the left by a tenth of an inch or so.   I've built a bunch of geometry on this feature, but when I go to set up tool paths, it's too narrow to cut with the tool I want to use.

To do this in illustrator, I would select the line and the two connected points at each end with a lasso select.  I'll then hold shift and drag left.  I'll need to fix up the spline handles.

If I try this in Fusion, the connected lines move in unexpected ways:

If I try to fix the point at the top, then this happens:

I don't see any way to show the spline handles for these curves, but maybe I'm just missing something?

Are these imported sketches indeed represented internally as splines?  Would it be possible to expose editing tools similar to the spline editing tools for them?

Thanks a bunch!

Hello,

when you import svg, the spline don't have a handles. So you can't adjust the curves as a Fusion spline.

I think this is a good idea for improvement.

let me clarify your requests:

you want to imported svg splines as a common Fusion spline

add shortcut for move with sketch entities in step (for example shift+arrow)

regards

Martin

Yes to importing SVG as splines.  Out of curiosity: how are they represented now?

Would be nice to have a step move by arrow key.  That said, when I talked about shift in context of illustrator, it was to constrain the move to vertical/horizontal/45°.  I guess it's possible to do this using the manipulator in Fusion.

I guess I'll rebuild this geometry from a newly imported SVG.

Thanks for your reply.

a spline in SVG are imported as a spline to Fusion. The reason why the spline is not editable in Fusion is because the spline definition in SVG isn't compatible with a Fusion spline.
