Too few options on animation & rendering

Hi folks,

I really love Fusion 360 but I'm really stuck in using it to render some small knobs for software UI's. I need to export png's frames from animations (or tif) and I don't seem to be able to make this happen, all I manage is doing an AVI file but I need individual image files. Can someone help me or do I need another app for this ? It would really be cool to only use F360 as I like the render quality and simplicity.

thanks,

Hans

Hi,

To be clear: You are in Animation and want to export frames from your animation? Do you want these to be rendered as ray tracing images, or is screen appearance ok?

Thanks,

The animation capabilities in Fusion are quite primitive.  Have a look at Simlab Composer.  They have a plug-in for Fusion so you can do all your rendering in Simlab and animation.  It is not expensive and has a lot of features.

It is what I use for all my CAD renderings.

Hi Phil.E yes, I'd like to export for example 151 frames from a 240° knob turnaround and export each frame as PNG or TIFF but I can't find that option, that's sad as it's very capable but the animations and export features are too limited. thanks,

Hi burnandreturn, yes I'm testing out the demo now, I was hoping to be able to do it right in F360 as I liked the results of the renders but if that not possible I'll go with Simlab. Do you know if the hobby version will be able to export for example small PNG frames from an animation with alpha or transparent backgrounds ? thanks a bunch!

Only problem with Simlab is that you can't do parallel view renders, which is needed in my case for some tools.

thanks,

I don't know about the hobby version and I don't know what a parralell render is or means.  I have the full version of SimLab.

It's just the render without perspective view, just parallel view.

You can position your model any which way you want and then render or animate the position and render.

Thanks I just bought Simlab but unfortunately I don't seem to be able to export all the 151 frames to png like I did with Cinama 4D, rendering each frame by hand is really not a good option, I need to be able to export all frames at once, I hope there's another way because otherwise I won't be able to use it.
