Tips on getting the Sketch Solver to play nicely?

Hi, I'm genuinely interested in any tips.

The only area I repeatedly have issues in fusion is when using configurations or when I have a dimension where I add a significantly larger value (that shouldn't get it to explode under normal CAD circumstances, but does)

What happens is that often a reference point jumps to the other side of the reference. eg. If i have a reference on a cylinder (say cut at a 45 angle) it will move the reference to the opposite side of the cylinder)

The only way to currently try and prevent this is to jump up in small increments in size.

Does anybody have tips on how to stop the sketch solver from going haywire flipping sketches?

It's really painful fixing the same few sketches over and over again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Been reported by others.

Majority of problems are associated with arcs and circles.

Yeah WOW that makes total sense!

Almost all my issues are arcs, and circles. I can literally find direct examples now that precisely exhibit that behaviour.

There is a control point spline with a collinear constraint, but that causes issues less often.

I've attached a couple of examples. If anybody knows a better way to model to avid these issues, I'd be forever greatful!

Hi! Could you share the f3d files? I would like to try these cases on my machine to understand the behaviors better.

Many thanks!

Not sure what internal access you have,

this is just one item in the bucket

Ever tried to search for something similar to this in (my) historical posts,

I know I contributed to another post for this problem, but when you can't find them easily you can't link to them easily.

Sometimes, adding construction geometry can help.  For instance, adding the red line (plus dimensions/constraints keeping it in place) here can maybe help:

Hi, sorry for the late reply. Most of those files are full of IP. I'd really have to trim them down.

I'll try to make a simple file to recreate the 2 issues. If I can repeat it, then I'll definitely post the files. Thanks.

Thanks Jeff. You can see I tried doing that with the midpoint line that didn't need to be there. haha

Adding an angled line as well might do the trick for now. I'll definitely give it a go! Thanks.
