When I try to thread a hole it destroys the part. Any Idea of what is causing this to happen.

Hi there. Where did this part come from? Which program made it?

I thought I'd try removing the hole in the centre of the part and add the thread into a blind hole and Fusion crashes repeatedly. error report CER_135155323

I haven't tried that one yet I moved on to another section trying to finish the project. I am having troubles threading the stud on the end also. I have tried increasing the dia. of the part and still get the same error.

Think I found your problem there. The holes are not perfectly concentric but less than a thousandth off. 2 of the 6 holes are perfect but the others are not. That is why you will see a parting line on the inner surfaces on four of them but not all of them. Remake the holes with a perfect circle sketch extrude and voila problem gone!

I may not be understanding But I tried to remake the holes and still nothing. I don't know how to make the holes any more round.

Let me know if my file works for you. I could easily add threads to any of the holes. I confirmed this. If it works then lets then figure out what went wrong. Here to help. Thanks

I copied the original sketch into another design, redid all the steps and now it works. Must be gremlins. Thanks for your help all.

Hi Josh,

Thanks for reporting this out. I can reproduce the problem and have asked the development team to look into it.

I have not figured out the root cause yet, but just discovered a way to repair the model. Please refer to the screencast below for details.

(It seems to me an issue related to Offset because, when a thread is applied, the corresponding cylindrical face will be offset to match the specified thread size. My workaround is just making some changes in the sketch and triggering the model update)

Hi,

You can use workaround for this failure of increasing dia of part

If you fully constraint this revolve sketch then this failure no more available

Hi Mark,

Thanks for letting us know the problem, and thanks for the detailed steps in the CER (It was super helpful!). I could reproduce the crash in release build.

I also tried the same steps in the latest development build, and it had been fixed. The fix should be available in the next major update in September.
