Thread operation

I design a threaded bolt as a component, I then make a nut using the same thread as the second component, Then select Joint and can find the centre of the bolt and select, then go to find centre of the nut and it appears when pointer is on the actual nut but disappears when you move to the empty centre of the nut thread so cannot make the bolt thread centered on the nut, what am i doing wrong

Take a look at the screencast.  If you do not hover over the edge of the tapped hole at least once, you may not get the joint origin to show up at the center.

I think the difficulty you are having is because you are selection one of the many points around the thread hole instead of the center joint origin, when it shows.  Take a look at the screencast.

You can learn about screencast at this link.  It is way down in the article so be sure to scroll down.  Screencast are pasted in the box right below the message body where it says "Paste a Screencast URL".  After creating a screencast, using the Autodesk Recorder, you can pick up the URL from the listing of your recording.
