Tapered diameter spiral?

Hey guys,

I'm more of a newbie to fusion 360, and am trying to replicate this spiral design inside of it. I already made the "cone" shape, I am just stumped on how I would go about making that spiral shape with the texture. Any and all help is appreciated.

Thank you for your time!

You can create a spiral sketch curve by constructing a cone then draw a coil around it. Then create a new sketch and use project to surface selecting the seam on the coil. You can then either hide the cone and coil or select them in the browser and use Remove, don't use delete.

Thank you so much for the prompt response!

I took what you did and tweaked it a little, and it's really coming together nicely. I am still having a problem getting that texture on the inside, where instead of a rounded interior, it is more rigid and sharp. If you would, please take a look at the picture I posted above where it shows the inside of the funnel. I have been messing around with cutting vs intersecting but cannot figure out exactly how to make it work.

Here is my progress thus far, but I am going to have to go back later on and tweak it again. I would just like to learn 🙂

So I was thinking, maybe up the thickness of the wall for the cone, and then make the spirals only in the interior? I'll figure it out. Let me know if you think that is a valid solution Ill report back soon.

Experiment with the file attached, it uses 2 lofts, one for the outside then one to cut the inside away. The 2 parameters are for the cross section of the loft.

Thanks for the help, really.

I can manage to open the document you provided for a couple minutes before it crashes my pc (even though it has been stable for the past 9 months). If you ever have the time, I would love it if you could make a video or text explaining how you achieved that, it would be very much appreciated. If not I understand completely also, and will just post back here if I find another way to do it. Until then I will mark yours as the solution so others can find it.

Thank you again.
