Tap and Drill problem on side plane

Screen capture of Holes.png

The problem I am facing is trying to figure out how counterbore, drill and tap this hole.  Origin zero is the center of the hole above.  I have tried offsetting plane from my points.  After extrusion it gives me these funny half moon shapes, Probably because on a radius? I know I could cheat with vertical lines, but I would like to keep my tool length as short as possible.  Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Please attach your model as it is hard to diagnosis a problem purely from pictures.  If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section of a forum post to attach it.

I have always used the snipping tool. Let see if this goes through.

Why the unconstrained sketches?

Are those curves supposed to be concave or convex?

Your image in original post shows one thing, your part file shows different.

What is the true Design Intent?

Not on purpose.  I'm a machinist at heart;  So trying to self teach through modeling.  I learned on AutoCAD. So I work backwards a lot.

I am a machinist.

I model much the same way that I create real parts on the shop floor.

If you have blue curves or white dots (undefined geometry) you should STOP and as questions rather than continue on.

I am taking a guess here but are you trying to create a clamping sleeve something like this?  The model is attached is so and if you need any help as to what I did, let me know.

Sorry for the lackluster response, I did not see the second question come through; its convex.  You are correct.  The first and second image don't add up.  That's because I've modeled multiple times. The reason for this is I want to see how the software changes relationship on side profile and being more efficient.  Currently I run 3 axis mill; use to programing 2d parts. I'm looking at getting a 4th axis rotary. So this is more or less trial run. I noticed its fully constrained now when I click on my attachment.  This might sound like a dumb question, but when I upload my model you guys can edit it? Seeing that the through holes are working properly.  So would it be an issue with not fully constraining the model? or would Half moon/dimpled hole profiles be a way of the software saying hole size isn't possible on current profile and or geometry?

Yep. That's the one.  I believe I have found why its making those funny half moons. my midpoint is the center of the hole.  If you don't mind, how'd you model on yours?

In the Screencast my guess of the location of the work plane, to place the hole centers, and the standard depth of the counterbore worked out with a complete counterbore cut.  If it does not, simply edit the work plane location and take the hole counterbore automatic calculation off and enter your depth of counterbore manually.  If this solves your forum question be sure to mark it with the Accept Solution icon so other can find it.
