Sweeping a profile along a closed multi-segment curved path

Hi, I'm trying to sweep a profile along a multi-segment curved closed path. I've tried as both a cut operation and join/new operation. In both cases the profile stops and doesn't recognize the full path. See screenshots below and attached file. How do I get this profile to sweep the entire closed path? Thanks

Hi,

Self-intersections occur in the sharp corners, which prevent the sweep process.

Got it, thanks Guenther. So how would you recommend that I achieve the desired effect?

Is this what you wanted?

If so, here are the steps:

  1. Split body as it's symmetrical.
  2. Extrude cut the top straight area (You could also use Split Body to separate it from the angled portion).
  3. Remove fillets.
  4. Use the Draft tool to add the angled portion.
  5. Add the top straight area back.
  6. Fillet the edges.
  7. Mirror the body to complete it.

OR

You could just move the timeline to before the angle sweep, then use the draft tool:
