Sweep problem

Hi guys:

I cannot get rid of this lines in a seep operation. Why is it happening.

Also I cannot add a filet to the corners.

You will not be able to remove the lines you speak of since they are surface transition lines added by Fusion as the surface changes.  You can make them invisible by changing your Visual Type to Shaded.  As far as filleting the corners, add the fillets to the Sweep sketch.

Thank you  jhackney1972 for the help and the fast response.
Already added the filets to the profile sketch to sweep. I'm trying to add others to the intersection of the back cylinder face and the sweep operation.

I would have to agree and disagree!

 Using the sweep command creates these separate surfaces and with the sweep based workflow, indeed, the "lines" cannot be removed, or be avoided. That is only one of the problems with the sweep command.

 

However, the lines can be completely avoided with an admittedly more laborious workflow.

 

Depending on the needed outcome, I would use a different modeling approach because the sweep command creates bad surface quality, easily observable when using the appropriate inspection tools:

 

Analysis->Isocurve Analysis

In this case the bad surface quality might not create a problem when applying a fillet, but in more complex situations it can and has created problems!

Why create a Coil instead of Sweep with Twist?

Do you want the profile perpendicular to the path (otherwise you have no idea of your true profile)?

Thanks for the help, I totally agree on the profile. Should be perpendicular to control dimensions.
I'll try both ways: Sweep the profile, perpendicular to, and along a Coil and also using the Twist option.
Hopefully Fusion will let me do both.
