SVG will not open in Fusion

I have a vector image created in Adobe Illustrator that I have converted in a SVG file using Photoshop.

When I load the file in Fusion I get this error.

Error: The selected SVG file contains no information or some unsupported information. The Fusion sketch will not include unsupported geometry.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Thanks

Hi,

Even though I can't check it at the moment, it looks like it's a pixel graphic.
Have you vectorised an image in AI?
Then you have to make sure that you only save the vector graphic as SVG. You can then open this in Fusion via Insert > insert SVG.

Hi,

I have downloaded the vector image from adobe stock as an ai file and I opened it in photoshop to save it as SVG. It is working perfectly if you save it as svg in Illustrator, but it will not open if saved as SVG in Photoshop. I have a Photoshop subscription, but I don't have an Illustrator one.

I'm not familiar with Illustrator or Photoshop (I use alternative applications). Although SVG is primarily a vector format it can contain raster images as well, so I suspect that Photoshop is converting your vector AI to a raster. I expect you could use Inkscape to perform the conversion or you might find an online converter.

I've created a Windows application (and now Mac as well) for creating custom thread files for Fusion. You can find out about it here. Hope you find it useful.
If you need to know how to offset threads for 3D printing then I've created a guide here which you might find useful.
If you would like to send me a tip for any help I've provided or for any of my software applications you've found useful, you can do this via my Ko-Fi page here.

It seems to be a weird form of .svgeeglee.jpg

I converted it Online to .jpg then Vectorised in Fusion using Project Salvadore

Can you share the .ai file?

I didn't see the SVG attached to your first post before. Now I've checked it I can confirm that it's exactly as I first thought. The original vector has been converted by Photoshop into a raster format and this has been embedded inside the SVG. If you can attach the original .AI file (copyright allowing) it would help.

Please see attached the file.

I can converted in AI with no problem but not in Photoshop.

I cannot share the file directly, so please see see a link above.

You'll see I've sent you a private message with the converted file but for others following the thread here's the gist of the message:

I have converted your .AI to .SVG and .DXF and shared them on Google Drive. As this seems to be a copyrighted file I thought it best not to post them back on a public forum hence the private message. I couldn't open the .AI in Inkscape for some reason so this conversion was done in Affinity Designer. I also successfully converted it in LightBurn and CorelDRAW.

Hope this works for you. If you have any problems just let me know.
