I'm trying to pocket 2d-mill a somewhat complex pattern. When I select the pockets I want to mill some of them lead to crazy results. The pattern is created in Illustrator. I then export to SVG (with maximum precision). Since the shape in illustrator is the inverse of what I want I surround it with a box and get this:
I then extrude what is marked as blue (do I have to extrude to be able to mill btw?)
In CAM-mode i add a setup and start selecting things i want to mill. This picture is what it looks like when things are ok (or at least when i perceive them to be, I'm pretty new at this).
I then add a single pocket to my selection (the one to the left of the arrow in the upper middle part of the overview).
When i click ok the following tool-path is rendered
Am I doing something apparently wrong? If the answer is that I have to repair the paths in 2d (would make sense), how do I detect the problematic ones and how do I repair them?
