Create circles connected by bars or rectangles

Somone deleted by post without letting me know why, so I will post again.
In sketch mode, how can I connect some circles I draw with bars or rectangles. The lines between the circles should have a set width. The figure will be extruded later on to create a 3D object.
The circles can be in random positions and not like the pentagram below. But how to create this?
