surface intersection

Projecting objects onto surfaces is useful, but very often I find that what I really want is just a sketch curve of the intersection between a surface and an object.

Have you tried project cut edges to get the intersection of a surface/body and the sketch plane?

Project cut edges works great now if you want a planar curve, but sometimes what is needed is a 3D curve giving the intersection between two objects, this can then be used as a basis for a sweep, surface, or other process. I understand that this gets into 3D sketching, which is another subject.

I agree with Coean

we need 3D curves as well.
