**** stuck again

Guys, I have been trying to get the attached sketch to process thru the 2D profile so I can cut it out on my plasma table. Icankind of get the inside to show up for the tool path but it takes like 4 hours and when it does it looks like It wants to cut at every point (start and stop the move then goes to the next dot).

I cannot get the outer contour to show up any way I try it. to complete the cut out. I have tried extrusion, picking each item, and nothing works. I am sure I have or have not done something right. 😞

Please advise if you can. P.S. is anybody having problems wht Fusion 360 running real slow in the last few days?

Glenn,

Looking at your sketch, there are numerous issues present. Focusing on the outer profile, at the lower left corner, you can double click and it will select a partial profile. The areas where it stops are where you need to fix the sketch. In particular, white dots and double lines. I found that there were numerous double line issues while working up the right hand side. Select the geometry you want to keep, delete the rest.

Did you draw this or convert this? Or was it a purchased .DXF?

Purchased DXF file with 9 eagle flags in it. still having a hard time separating each one into its own separate file .

Driving me crazy

That sketch is definitely a mess (technical Fusion 360 terminology)😀

Replacing the top of the flagpole with a 3 point circle and deleting the splines will allow you to extrude the main outline.

Use the Divide and Conquer method to find breaks in sketch.  It is simply draw a line to bisect the sketch.  If one profile turns blue, then either move the line into the white or draw a new line bisecting the white.

Plasma and lasers don't like overlaid lines, so once you have fixed the boundary issue, extrude it.  Next, create a sketch and project the face to the sketch.  This should give you a good clean sketch to send to the plasma machine.

The other thing I noticed is that this sketch is a LONG way away from the origin.  About 200 feet away.  Do a "fit" and you can see how far away it is.  I'm not sure if that is contributing to your problems or not, but it is definitely not a good state for a model to be in:
