Struggle Modeling Mouse

Hey all, picked up Fusion 360 the other day to start designing as a hobby and pick up a skill for possibly a future in the field!

However, I'm trying to recreate my room and as I've gotten down to the finer items such as those on my desk I've really been stuck. Right now, I have no clue how to start designing or the workflow to approach making my mouse. Below are two pictures, one of the mouse in question and the second my attempt.

How can I start to model this and what things can I learn to use in future workflows? For example, modeling my keyboard.

Hi,

At YT you can find several tutorials under the keywords Fusion 360 & Sculpting / Formtools.

t-spline (form mode) modeling is very similar to sub-D modeling.  There are a multitude of tutorials for other programs on sub-D modeling, and would be a good place to start learning.

looking at the pic of your mouse I can see a few things right off the bat that will make achieving a good form difficult.

1-you've got creases running into star points

2-your using a 3 sided face

a couple of rules of thumb that might help-

-try to place star points in areas of low curvature. (also try to place them 2 faces way from areas you plan on doing future surface operations on)

-hard edges should be continuous edge loops, and not run into or through star points

-use only quads
