Strange message after update

I have been getting a strange message everytime I save or make a change in the time line since the update. The message says

"computing C-Pattern6"..... It says this in the lower right cornet everything I make a change to a sketch or time line.

Anyone know what this is? It is very slow to complete.

Thanks

Dave

What you are seeing is totally normal.

When you make changes that affect the timeline, the model will calculate. This is standard behavior for Fusion.

If it's taking a long time, you must have a fairly heavy pattern to compute. Can you share a screen shot of your entire Fusion interface when this is happening? Include the timeline and everything.

Thanks!

Very strange. I never got this messgaetill after the update. I'm now getting this error message.

Error: BrepBlobSerializer::doSave - ASMInterface::saveSmbFile failed!

Again, this is an error message regarding your data after the compute. This one is not particularly helpful and is generally only for development purposes.

Without access to your project or data, or a screenshot it's impossible to tell what is going on. Can you post some of this information? it would really help.

Thanks for reporting!

Hi, Here is a link to the file. http://a360.co/1SKaX15

I have made some changes to the file and saving is working fine again. I also deleted a bunch of things in the time line because I'm

making some changes to the model but it is still much slower then it was before the update.

Thx Dave

Thanks for sharing the model. I do find that the compute for the pattern is longer than expected. We'll take a look!

Thanks for looking. Like I said I'm reworking a bunch of things so I may have messed something up.

Not sure if this is related but fusion is taking a very long time to start up now also. Takes almost a full min to get to where I can open a project.

Edit the pattern, change it from Optimized to Identical style.

The pattern updates instantly. In this case Optimized is actually worse for this pattern. The shapes of the geometry work against the "Optimized" method.

Logged internally as FUS-19098. Thanks for the file and the report!

The problem with changing the pattern is I lose the patter effect. There should be two threads around the body. I just patterened the first thread to get the second one. Now it seems like I'm not getting the second thread around the body.

I see that. This result may be a bug.

The problem with the compute is you are patterning features, which is really just a face pattern. The faces you are patterning have chamfers on them in two places. This is causing the slow compute. If you suppress all the chamfers the problem goes away.

  • Is it possible to add the chamfers after the pattern?
  • Or pattern the thread bodies, subtract them, and then do the chamfers?
  • Or add chamfers to the thread bodies, pattern them, and then subtract?

Thanks,
