Splitting body problems

Cannot split body using a stitched body. Also how come surfaces are bodies?

Can you share your model and perhaps explain what you are expecting to see ?

I see what you are doing in the screencast, but I am not sue I understand what is going wrong.

The model was split using the surface body. However part of the original body is missing. See pictures

Looking at your file now. One piece of advise, after importing geometry wait with enabling the timeline until you have all the geometry cleaned up and stitched together and maybe the assembly re-structured.

Only then enable the timeline if you must.

 

That way your timeline is not cluttered with a lot of operations not relevant to the actual design.

I don't see anything wrong with the split. It follows exactly the top you are splitting with, thus creating three separate bodies.

Thanks. I thought Body 17 & 18 were the the new split body and didn't realize Body 1 needed to be turned on also.
