Splines - Handle question

Hello,

Im hoping someone can answer a simple question because google is not helping me at the moment.  I could be using the wrong terminology.  So I am using F360 to build models that I will use in Maya/Mudbox/Zbrush.  I am not a cad/cam guy so please forgive ignorance about terminology or how fusion/cad programs work.

I am drawing lines and splines in the model window.  Now in something like Illustrator or photoshop when I make a splined line, I can go and select the handles and they will equallly move both handles or if I hit ctrl it will move just 1 handle and leave the other in place.  Does F360 have this functionality? and if you need something like this how do you go about it.  I dont want to always switch to a line to make a sharper corner.

If it doesnt have this type of functionality what is the best way to alter workflow when you need a curve but it may not be equal on both sides.  (in other words I was hoping I could make a shape in all splines if need be without switching to line.)  Hope this makes sense.  Sorry for the simple question but didnt see anyone asking on google and couldnt find the info in the help.

Hi @stah2593,

Although the splines in Fusion look like Adobe splines, the don't have the ability to break the tangency handle like you can in Adobe products. The bars will always be equal length on both sides.

If you want to control the transition on the corner you have an option to either reduce the handle size down, snap two end points of a curve or overbuild the curve and use a curve fillet to do the transition.

Although the work-around provided delivers a degree of function, Photoshop-like side-independent spline manipulation would simultaneously both empower the user and greatly reduce process burden.   As is, the number of required nodes is multiplied, as are the negative ramifications of proliferation.
