Spline terminator icon not showing up

I've used the spline tool a lot and it works great. Each time I would click to add a point during the creation of the spline a little checkmark-in-a-circle would appear and clicking on that would tell the tool that I'm done adding points.

But in my most recent use of the spline tool, that little checkmark-in-a-circle icon never appears. I watched a video of spline-making and the fellow said to double-click and that will terminate the spline, so I used that technique to end the spline.

But WHAT HAPPENED to that little checkmark-in-a-circle icon? Why isn't it showing up any more? Instead, I'm seeing a box saying "Select first point to close". I'm not sure if it always said that, but I don't want a "closed" spline. I want, or at least expect,  that check-box icon.

Thank you for the fix, was happening to me,

but didn't know about the double click, I think I fitted arcs to the job at the time, but arcs might not work next time.

hmm... it seems to be there for me.  Can you record a screencast of what you are seeing?  What operating system are you using?  The below was recorded on a Mac

I'm on a Windows 10, HP Pavilion.

Seen it a couple of times last was a week or so ago, usually in a larger file,

Was in my airfoil workflow.

Import dxf, project four top points and then trace the airfoil with a spline, in a second sketch, but now I remember just going with the imported profile.  Visual only for that model.  Reviewed today was all ok.

I've had this happen occasionally not just for splines but any of the line\arc tools. Personally wish I could turn it off completely as it gets in the way way too often. It's easy enough to finish a line or spline using right click and select OK or hitting enter.

Here's a video of what happens. [ It's "attached" as a video to this message since I haven't installed the screencast extension and really don't have time to learn yet another tool just to post a screencast. 🙂 ] You can see that there's no checkmark-in-a-circle icon, which usually appears as soon as you click a second point for the spline.

I will point out that this only occurs for the project that I'm working on, which is indeed large and complex. I did a test with a simple temporary project that just has a block shape in it and used the spline on a sketch on one face of the block and it works fine, actually showing the check-mark-in-a-circle icon.

So the problem does seem to be related to the complexity of the project, EVEN THOUGH I only had one Component active and visible and that component only had a couple of simple sketches and just one simple body at the time that I was doing the spline.

It could certainly be related to the size (either physical size or complexity) of the model.  I wonder if the checkbox is there, but is drawn in a very inconvenient location.  If you have an example model that you can share (privately or publicly), we can investigate it.

Editorial comment:  I personally agree with @HughesTooling - I find this UI annoying, and have often inadvertently clicked it before I was ready, ending my line/spline.  For Line, it's not a huge problem, but for Spline, it is not so good, since you then have to re-create your spline.  I tend to use other methods (Enter, or right-gesture) to end my commands.  To each his/her own...

I think when I've seen this problem it's because I've had Fusion running for a while, using hibernate so might not have restarted for a few days. It always goes back to working as normal after closing and restarting Fusion.
