Solidworks part file to Fusion & maintain parametrics from SW

I'm working on doing a CNC mill conversion.  I've watched a video of a guy who brings in SolidWorks files by I'm assuming uploading them and then the R clicks to "make fusion design" in the file browser from the SolidWorks file and it will convert the SW part file to a fusion file BUT retain all the parametric data from the original SolidWorks file.  I do not see this function in when right-clicking in the file browser?  Is there another way to do this OR am I missing something?

Here is the video, go to 1:35

no, this is not possible in Fusion today, or in any other parametric CAD design tool that I am aware of.  This is the holy grail of CAD interop, but every parametric system is different enough in behavior, and in modeling kernels, that achieving this would be very unlikely, IMO.

That's exactly what I thought and was surprised when I saw it.  Did you look at the video? IF not take a look and it might have you scratching your head as well ;  (

I watched the video and did not see any demonstration of parametric data translation - only standard base (dumb) solid translation.

Did you email the YouTuber as he suggests in his video?

When importing geometry there is NO parametric history captured. The author of that video mentioned that in his commentary but that isn't actually the case.

I've made a number of youtube videos/tutorials myself and It is easy to say something wrong in a youtube video.
