SolidWorks user here attempting to learn F360. How do you snap to a particular location on a circle within a sketch?

For instance, lets say I've created a sketch on xz plane, and centered my circle with respect to the origin. Now I want to place points on the circle where its edges intersect the x and z axis (so four points total that would make a cross if connected to the circle's center with lines). The cursor doesn't snap to these points on the circle, even with grid snap turned on.

Do I really have to create construction lines for such a simple task? Been a few months since using SW but if I remember correctly, it would let you snap to north, south, east, west points of a circle.

You tell Fusion you want that inference by hovering over the Origin, then moving to the point you want,

(will give you the blue constraint preview dotted line in the process)

only works for the quadrant snap you are looking for, in that almost empty sketch.

Otherwise it's, use points or construction lines, and relevant constraints, but they are not limited to the quadrants.

I don't use the grid, ever, so I am not answering nor refering to that portion of the question.

I have not used Solidworks, can't compare, and when in Fusion, do as Fusion does.

Thx Dave. So anything but quadrant snaps will require geometry to snap to. Got it.

I'm having trouble snapping to a circle. How can I snap to geometry in a sketch that is not on the grid? I'd like to snap to just one of the grid lines instead of needing 2 intersecting ones.

Thanks, John

I'm having trouble snapping to a circle.

You can't snap to a plain circle. you will need constraints or other geometry.

How can I snap to geometry in a sketch that is not on the grid?

Start a command and hover the mouse until the blue snap square is visible.  Continue.

I'd like to snap to just one of the grid lines instead of needing 2 intersecting ones.

I won't use the grid, if you dimension the end point the same dimension as the grid line, would that work?

Might help...

It's working now. Somehow the sketch I was trying to add geometry to was not on the plane I was expecting it to be. Thanks for your help.
