Slicer cant save pdf

Others have posted about this problem but there was no solution found.

I can't save my slicer files as .pdf so I can laser print. It appears to save, theres no error message, but the file isn't in my computer (I made sure I clicked save to my computer and selected the correct location).

Even when I save as .eps, the files save but when I open them, there is nothing in them. I need a pdf however.

Can someone please help?

File attached.

Apologies if this is the wrong forum, but I couldn't find one specifically for Slicer

Hi,

So far I'm having the same issues with this file, although other models sliced save perfectly well to PDF.

Since you only have two sheets, a workaround that has just worked for me is to select a sheet and click on Print. On your printer dialog, choose Save to PDF and it does the trick.

That is an awesome idea... good thinking... however when I gave it a shot, the printer options for maximum page size is A2, so most of the artwork gets cropped out. The pieces are too big to set up on an A2 unfortunately.

The other weird thing that happens when I try to save to pdf is it gives me an explorer icon on the file and when I roll over them it contains 0 bytes (see attached).

From what you can see, is there an issue with this file, as you said you didn't have issues with other files.

ok. I checked again and had a bit of an epiphany. I looked for the size of the stock. Your model, according to the file you sent me, is 17 meters long. Not sure in which machine you are trying to cut that. I want one of those 😉

I resized the model to the ranges of a big CNC, and it generates the PDF correctly.

What size were you meaning to work on?
