sleep mode no longer works when Fusion 360 running

A very odd problem with the release of F360 that I downloaded a couple of weeks ago. If F360 is running and I put the computer to sleep then after a minute or two the computer wakes up again. Happens whether I select shut-down/sleep from the start menu or press the power button. Does not happen if F360 is not running. Have tried this several times and rebooted the computer and it seems to happen consistently.

I also tried disabling "allow this device to wake the computer" for the keyboard; wake from the mouse was already disabled. The unwanted wakeups still occur.

I am running WIn7 on a Dell T1700. Have not seen this behavior with any other program or with earlier versions of F360.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

Hi Michael,

I have not come across this issue before but will do some testing and get back to you.

Jon.

It was reported a few weeks back and after a bit of testing it's definitely Fusion that's the problem.

Jon - Thanks for your reply.

I did a little searching and came up with a solution of sorts: Went to Control Panel / Power Options / Change Plan Settings / Change Advanced Power Settings. On window that pops up went to Sleep / Allow Wake TImers and set this to Disable.

I don't know what the 'normal' setting is for this item. Or if any other programs on my PC need this enabled to function correctly. But is does fix the issue with F360 so it would seem that the latest version of F360 is setting a 'wake timer'. Be interesting to know what it is for.

Thanks for the update.

It looks to me that Fusion is trying to remind you to save your file.

When this happens, computer wakes up.

Good solution Smiley Happy

Can you select "Accept as a Solution" so it closes this thread?

Jon -
Sure, I will accept this as a solution. But it might be a problem if other
programs need the timers to work. Seems like it is still a bug that should
get fixed. Or rather 'un-broken' since it was not a problem till the latest
release.

Thanks again,

Maybe there is just a "disable timer on sleep" switch somewhere that got set wrong?
