Sketch offset not fully constrained?

Please see this screencast: https://youtu.be/2DBHRdZQiaU

I draw a fully constrained rectangle in a sketch and add an offset of a specified dimension. Any idea why the offset appears in blue (unconstrained)?

actually, even if I make the sketch of the inner rectangle using "center Rectangle" and manually type the sizes, after the sketch fully constrains, extruding (q) does not rotate to 3D mode with the distance handle. EVERYTHING goes off the rails.

I'm not a noob to CAD, but literally my first MINUTE with Fusion360.

Can you create a screencast of the behavior and maybe share your model ?

I am following the same (very basic) tutorial and I can't get it to get fully constrained either. I'm googling like crazy to see if Autodesk changed something in Fusion 360 but I can't find anything.

lol 8 year later and ... still working on it? Simple sketch, 2 offsets form a single constrained line. They appear black and appear to be constrained, but are not and there is no way to make those dots coincident. If I mirror, the resulting geometry is unconstrained. If I adjust the horizontal lines distances, then weird things happen. The lines act constrained in some instances and not in others. But worse, anything that comes after and is then deleted unconstraint the entire simple sketch.

Yep "We are still working on it" 8 years later.

You jest, right?  You would think that 8 years is long enough.

The offset functionality in the Sketch engine has recently seen a significant change. It isn't too unusual that such changes also introduce bugs. If you can share an example file and a screencast showing the behavior, that would help.

Thank you for the response. If I run into it again, I certainly will. I burned the sketches down and started over out of frustration.  Between that and my driving dimensions getting changed to floating point distances I am at my wits end.

I know I rant a good bit, but I am honestly very frustrated with the software. I am come to the conclusion that offset and mirror should be avoided or only used extremely sparingly in sketches. Otherwise the solver goes into meltdown and things not only get slow (minutes) but weird stuff happens.
