Sketch > Project/Include.. but what about exclude?

Hi All,

I am a little frustrated as I have, once again, run into one of those hook and barb UI elements that tend to cause beginners like me a 2 hour headache. (I say "hook and barb" because once I do it, I can't see any way back out).

Once you have included other geometry into your sketch, how do you go back? I want to get rid of the large blue circle that I included/projected from another plane. There doesn't seem to be any way to do it.

Can anyone help please?

Thank you very much

As that sshot is already in Edit mode and the blue line is highlighted, now it's just Delete, with the Delete Key,

Sometimes that doesn't work, so right mouse button for a menu, and Delete in that menu has always worked for me.

Might help....

Right clicking for menus or pressing the delete key would be the intuitive thing to do, and of course I tried both of those many times before posting, but neither works.

Perhaps you do not understand the situation. I'm not just trying to delete a circle in the sketch, I'm trying to remove or "unprotect" a circle that has been projected onto the current sketch.

Thanks anyway

Then it is "Break Link", after selecting it in the dropdown menu with the right mouse click, to unhook it,

Sorry I thought getting rid of, was meaning delete,

But all the same Delete without unhooking should work, does here.

Double check - you can find you are in the wrong sketch if nothing works....

That blue circle isn't in the sketch your currently editing.  and it's not projected into it either.  If you don't want to see it, turn the other sketches off so you can't see them.  You can't delete sketch elements from other sketches while your in sketch edit mode. (probably a good thing)

The little icon on the circle shows that it is infact a project entity in the current sketch so you should be able to select and delete.

Only tips for selecting would be to hide any other sketches and try holding the mouse button down until you get the selection dialog, if there are several selection try selecting the bottom item and delete. If that doesn't work keep trying the next one up in the list.

Mmm.. it is projected, because I put it there by projecting it from another sketch...

Thank you, I know how to select specific entities by holding down the mouse and I know how to hide sketches; I did in fact try these strategies.. I thought there may have been a special way of dealing with projections which I was unaware of, that was preventing me from getting rid of it. It seems odd that clicking on the projection icon didn't bring up a little menu either. I think the UI is mostly excellent, but there's a lot of little tweaks still required in my opinion.
Thanks All

@lindsay.fowler It's not clear, did you manage to delete the projected curve or is there still a problem? One thing I don't like about Fusion is the pick order for overlapping curves, the oldest is picked first. This means if you project a curve into a sketch then try selecting the projection Fusion will pick the curve from the other sketch first. The curves in the pick list are oldest at the top so the projection will be at the bottom. Personally I'd like the pick order to be newest first and newest at the top of the pick list when you hold the mouse button down.

Thanks Mark, I couldn't seem to delete or remove the projected lines, so then I deleted the whole sketch and started a new one. I think I projected the lines again the same way as before and this time I was able to delete them just as folks described. So, to me it felt like a tiny bug, but no ongoing problems.

Thank you
