Sketch Around Mesh?

Hello,

I am still relatively new to Fusion360.

As a learning project, I want to create a simple "protector" for a 3Dconnexion space mouse I.

This is to protect the mouse a little bit more, as I am sticking it into my backpack to take home/work.

The specific mouse I have is the SpaceMouse Pro.

Photo attached below (from their website).

I "3d scanned" the mouse with an android app (Polycam).

Below a screenshot of the mesh that I imported into fusion360.

Can somebody suggest a link HowTo or Video as to how I can specifically sketch the side-curves of the device?

The curves are 3d space... so I'm unsure how to go about it.

Would it be with a spline, and then I extrude?

Thank you for your help!

I would start with Top, Front, Side photos and Calipers.

(Didn’t it ship in a plastic cover?)

Hello!

I can take the photos and place them... sure thing!

I don't remember if it shipped with a plastic "cover" or something of the like.

Do you have a suggestion for the workflow on creating such a part, starting from the top, front and side photos?

How would I go about it?

Thank you!!

Attach the photos and we can start from there.

Insert the images onto appropriate canvases.

Calibrate and align as appropriate.

Create a plane and use the "Create Mesh Section Sketch" feature from the Mesh Workspace > Create Menu.

Here is a simple video to get you started : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KchEATw1dH4
