simulation showing failure at just a single point

I am running simulation on a chassis and the result shows failure at a single point. should I ignore that or I should make changes to the design to overcome it. the chassis showing factor of safety above 3 on maximum places. but only one point is showing less than 1. what to do?

Hi @xavieriteraghav,

It can be ignored if it's an artificial stress concentration (or if a weld bead will be placed in that area). The way to check is to refine the mesh in the area to see if the stress increases with a smaller mesh elements.

Adaptive mesh refinement will automatically solve in iterations, refining the mesh in the highest stress area until it converges on a result value that doesn't change within a certain tolerance %. View the Convergence Plot in Results, and if the solution diverges (keeps increasing) the stress concentration can be ignored.
