Simulation problems in version 2.0.2685

Hello all:

... Perhaps this is on me, but I'm having serious simulation issues in the last few versions (currently 2.0.2685, the 1 Feb 2017 update). I've tried various combinations of things, including turning the "advanced sim types" off and on.

Even the most basic simulation will not run. See the attached snap and archive.

[Solver data:]

Summary:
Error: Solver Error
Error: An error occurred while solving the model.

Mesh Details:
145 T : 100.0% of elements (100.0% of volume)
Face Angle min: 24, max : 115
Dihedral Angle min: 25.3, max : 126
Worst shape ratio : 3.51 on element 70
Worst aspect ratio : 2.46 on element 4, shortest edge: 0.00439, longest : 0.013
Lowest collapse ratio : 0.403 on element 70
Worst Jacobian ratio : 1 on element 1
Base mesh: 348 nodes, 145 elements
Solver mesh: 348 nodes, 145 elements
Job has finished with errors. Receiving results.

Is there some basic that I've missed here?

Thanks again, C

Hi Colin,

Are you solving locally or on the cloud?

I had a strange case this week of a model (just a simple test model, but that shouldn't matter) that would not solve locally but did solve on the cloud. To make things even stranger, it would solve locally if I changed the direction of the applied force! (from normal direction to global direction)

If the issue is related to a model, attach the model! See What files to provide when the model is needed.

Hi John:

Thanks for the quick reply.

Yes, that did solve my issue (strange). It did lead on to another issue -- I'll post that separately.

Any idea what's going on with the local solve?

Cheers, C
