Hi all,
I have a simple assembly of a beam-corbel steel detail (see image below), that I'm trying to run a non-linear analysis on.
All contacts are BONDED, so model its pretty straight forward. The reason I need non-linear its to study the non-linear plastic deformation of this particular corbel detail under high vertical loads and also to try and see the stress distribution along the top flange welds.
In short, when I have a COURSE mesh size and run non-linear the model actually runs, but since the mesh its course the stress distribution and plastic strains might not be as accurate as I need it to be. Roughly, this runs when I have less than 150,000 elements.
However, when I refine the mesh to a Size to about 2.5Million elements or just pass the 1Million elements, the model fails to run, regardless of what I do. It fails even under just gravity load.
My question is, seeing the above, is there a limit on elements number when running non-linear models in Fusion?
Has anyone experience something simar to this?
link to a model provided below for reference.
Note: In terms of Linear Analysis the model runs without any issues regarless of the mesh/elements size, i.e. it runs fine for my 2.5Million elements meshed size.
Appreciate any response/feedback
