Simulation - Bolt Connector with a Preload

Hi,

In the Static Stress Analysis you can use a Bolt Connector with a Preload.

The Preload is applied before the part deforms, as the part deforms I assume that the Preload is reduced. Or is it automatically adjusted?

Is there a way to verify the Preload in a Bolt Connector? I can't find a way to display the line element force results.

Hi @Roelof.Feijen,

Thank you for asking about.

I have shared your post with our Simulation Team and they will reply as soon as possible.

It would be great if you could share a couple screenshots of your design and a bit more information

what you would like to achieve to see in this load case?

Thanks,

Hello @Mike.Grau,

If you want to know more, just read my article: Using Bolted Connections with Preload in FEA (Nastran In-CAD).

This question is about step 4.
