Simulate motion of a swing clamp

I am trying to create the motion of a swing clamp cylinder.  The cylinder motion should swing 90 degrees and downward 10mm, after that there should be a remaining 10mm of cylinder stroke downward.  I am able to create as built joints to do the rotation or the downward movement but I cannot get them to move together.  When I create two separate joints (one with the rotation, one with the slide action) neither joint will function.

Save your file.

Then File>Export..., uncheck the option to Save a project in the cloud, and check the option to Save to my computer. Choose the Type Archive (*.f3d). Click on the Save button.

Attach that new file in a post here so we can take a look at it.

I tried to do that but it will not allow me to use that format because there are referenced components.

Here is the attached file.  The arm and shaft that it is attached to should rotate and slide together.

The cylindrical joint with motion link works for the first part of the stroke (10mm down, 90 deg) but I cannot figure out how to do the remaining 10mm stroke which has no rotation.  The final clamping motion is linear (last 10 mm)

In order to get a relationship that varies, you will have to implement a Motion Study. I've never done it, but I know there are several example on youtube that you might learn from.

I was able to do this with two joints. One represents the last 10mm of the cylinder stroke (linear) and the other is the cylindrical joint with motion link.  In order to use one joint you have to suppress the other in the timeline.  Kind of a pain but it functions in two stages.
