Simulate/Animate basic hydraulic system

How would one go about animating or simulating a basic hydraulic system. Very basic, like a school project that uses clear tubing and syringes? Is it possible with Fusion or another autodesk product?

Something along the lines of the image below:syringe hydraulic crane.jpg

AFAIK Fusion 360 can't simulated fluids. This product is what AD offers if it comes to fluids. I'm just a hobbyist so this is not in my budget.

If you want to do this in Fusion 360 and you don't care about how fluids behave (e.g. compression) you might be able to define motion links between components to animate the movement. The attached example has a wheel and a slider and by turning the wheel the slider moves. This is done by the motion link. You can simulated different fluid levels by limiting the min/max movement of your components. But again - no compression, no real physical links.

So my answer would be a ".... yes" if you don't care about the simulation and a "no" if it comes to fluid simulation.

Thanks

Yeah, I kinda figured it out myself with a few youtube vids and some searching the forum. Got the movement sorted etc, but having issues with joint conflicts. Tried cylindrical instead of revolute where applicable but still the error persists.

Will do it from scratch again and make sure all sketches and components are right from the start, before applying joints one by one and testing each time.

Thanks again for taking the time to reply to my query, much appreciated.

You might investigate Autodesk Inventor Professional - Dynamic Simulation environment.

Students can get Inventor for free from http://www.autodesk.com/edcommunity
