Shortcut for operation that doesn't have the add shortcut option

Hi,
Is there anyway I can add a shortcut for an operation that doesn't have the (3 dots)-add shortcut- option
I am not sure if this features available but I scavenged the shortcut list multiple times, youtube, website and the preferences as well and still didn't find anything

since my question is a bit vague I will give what I am trying to do:
1. I need a shortcut for the "Select through" option for the Selection Filter, basically by clicking it I enable it, and by clicking it again, it get disabled

2. their are many modifier that has this option but I will give the example on the "SPLIT BODY" modifier

As known these are the usual steps that done to split a body
1. select the body
2. click on the "Select" next to the -Split Tool-
3.then select the spliter face or line...
4. then hit "ok"  or "Enter"

What I want to do is to give a shortcut to switch between the selection option, so it be something like this:
1. select the body
2. click the Shortcut for example "TAB" and this will auto switch to the -Split Tool- selection
3.then select the split line  ....

and by pressing "TAB" again it can loop back

I know it is a bit of odd question/ request but been trying to do this for sometime but didn't get anywhere and thought maybe you guys can help

Thanks

Thank you for the suggestion, this look interesting and it might help

there is also another solution that might work but not sure if it will do what I want exactly, which is creating a python script for it, but IDK
